Description

An investigation of mathematical concepts and methods with emphasis given to their impact on current and ancient problems. Topics include mathematics of voting systems, basic graph theory including Euler circuits and the traveling salesman problem, the mathematics of population growth, statistics, and finding fair shares. Emphasis is on techniques of problem solving. Prerequisite: MA 005 or Placement into MA 095 or MATO 1. Not open to a student with a grade of C or higher in MA 107, or higher except MA 160 and MA 161.
