Intermediate ASL II
Description
Students will continue to develop receptive and expressive skills, finger spelling, vocabulary building, grammatical structures, encouraging more extensive use of non-manual behaviors, classifiers, body postures, and signing space. Students will continue to be exposed to regional and ethnic sign variations and political and educational institutions of Deaf people. The course will involve intensive practice involving expressive and receptive skills in storytelling and dialogue. Students are enabled to enter into full discussion of topics that include abstract themes. ASL poetry and art will be featured as culture in this course. Prerequisite: ASL 205 or Instructor Permission. Offered: Fall, Spring.
