Income Tax and Estate Planning
Description
This course introduces students to the federal income tax system and estate planning as two potential critical components of the financial planning relationship. Students will understand how the income tax calculation and planning aids in achieving clients goals and objectives and the estate planning process minimizes uncertainty and promotes efficient transfer of wealth upon death. Both of these planning processes require identifying applicable rules and laws, calculating the effects of a clients actions, decisions and communicating through written documents the clients wishes. This course will encourage students to adopt the financial planning process to apply subject-matter knowledge to client recommendations and relationships. Prerequisites: MNGT 451. Grade of C or higher. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
